Research - Midnight Mill Studio

Midnight Mill are a screen printing studio I discovered through Instagram that produce a range of different printed merchandise.
They produce T shirts, Jumpers, Jackets, Hats, Screen prints, and also skateboards. Almost all of their products consist of hand drawn line qualities that have been screen printed onto the products. They use the marbling and colour blending screen print effects which I like and have been experimenting with recently so its interesting to see how they can be applied to products.
On their page they also sell original artwork like paintings, canvas, and hand painted skateboards - its interesting to note these as illustration products - not just the mass producible things.

• Illustration is a key part of this brand and the imagery itself its what creates the selling points.
• The illustrations style and consistent media that they use creates their brand identity, and gives it its unique characteristics.
• I like the brands hand generated aesthetics - its not all bold and graphic, its is colourful and textured and I thing has a nice authentic screen-print studio feel rather than the usual mass produced feel.
• It has an experimental nature, even to the finished products.
