- I had thought about putting the characters onto a landscape/scene, I wanted to have the background colour blended and maybe have the line work cut out of the colour.
- I experimented with overlaying the characters onto some backgrounds from another project to get an idea how they would look.
- After seeing them on top of these back grounds i'm not sure how they will look with too much detail behind them. They will look better on top of just a colour/texture - I think white line work behind them will be too complicated and distracting from the characters.
- I experimented with these simple circular labels for the beers, my idea was to have a different totem and a different colour to represent types of beers.
- AIR - larger - light blue, representing the sky and clouds
- LAND - ale - green/brown, representing the earth and plants
- WATER - cider - purple/dark blue, representing the water and ocean and mixing it up from the light blue to give them all unique colours.
- REPTILE - stout - bright green, to represent reptiles and bright and venomous
- INSECT - bitter - red, yellow
- The insect and reptile are more unusual creatures so I used them for the stout and the bitter because they are less popular beers so I thought it suited it better.
- I looked at how I could apply the circle labels to the beer, also how I could present the whole set of them.
More product ideas...
- These are some beer related products that I could apply the illustration/branding too, bottles, glasses, cans, bottle cap, pump label, beer mats, crate packaging, bottle opener. Also posters as a way of advertising the products, and merchandise like T shirts, tote bags or even skateboards.
