More Roughs...

Stairs and Doorways:

I revisited the idea of stairs, doorways, portholes and looked at how I could build on them and improve them. I looked at other shapes that could be going through the doorway as well as the stairs, and how the different staircases would fit together and overlap. I really liked the idea of having Huxley characters walking down the stairs, I think this would give the prints better content and make Huxley more involved within the concept. 

This rough is my favourite, I really like how there is multiple characters walking on different stair cases. I think it makes the perspective much more obvious and interesting. I made one of the characters look like his reaching out into the distance (similar to my landscape editorial). I think these things improves the concept loads because it feels like something is happening in the image. Also how the stair cases are facing inwards suggests there is no proper floor/ground and is just floating in space which adds to the psychedelic and metaphysical theme, which could be interpreted in a number of ways. This could work as a screen print? if I look at some ways of producing line quality for the black outlines that is not fine liner!

Ive focused on using black and green to rough with because that was my most successful colour way in my editorial, it had the best feedback and was my favourite. I think it suites the themes of cactus'/peyotes and is associated with themes of 'reality' and 'energy'.
