Digital Mono Print Experiments...

I scanned in some of my plain black mono black mono prints and messed about with them on photoshop. I was aiming to see if I could get any potential screen print designs, if I was too use the mono print straight as a positive and expose it onto a screen. I thought about how the design could be off set and overlapped with its self (printing the same layer twice). I really like how it looks in pink and green with no black, it adds too the surreal and psychedelic themes. It gives an interesting shadow effect that lifts the design forwards slightly.

I tried adding digital shape to the design. Its really interesting to see it in pink overlapping the green, i'm starting to like seeing how I can change my designs from being black. I don't like how the digital shapes with the outline, it looks too organised and flat, I much prefer a rougher looking printed shape.

I had a go a collaging different faces together and arranging them loosely on the page. It was fun to try this but this doesn't enhance them in any way at all. It just looks clustered and random. It was also starting to take me away from the 2 colour requirements.
