Visual Narrative - Tell an untold story - Mock up
Mock - up Design:
- I created this mock - up book. It helped me to think about my design on a bigger scale.
- It made me realise that there was a lot more space to be filled and is room for more complex content.
- The way that the book creates a long scene is defiantly a strong point and needs to be developed further.
- It creates an atmosphere that is derelict and ghostly which I'm pleased with. This is from the scratchy bold black paint pen combined with vibrant yellow.
- The way the buildings are yellow and the landscape/surroundings are black and white adds the weird atmosphere. It has a mysterious look and I'm hoping it will make the viewer wonder what and where?
- I like the direction my book is going and this media and design structure is explaining my experience in the theme park, but I feel like I want make it more exciting and vibrant.
- I like the perspective of the scene in the centre. I think its the walls on either side - I will look at angles like this for some other pages.
- The idea for the first page is effective. The buildings peeping through the broken gate, tempting him in to see what is there. I will make the character seem curios to what is there.
- Ending with him jumping over a gate ends it nicely and matches the start of the book. Linking the start and end together might be really interesting.
- I want to include more buildings to make it feel denser and complex.
- I will look how I can abstract the building to exaggerate my theme.
- I could look at different was to display the character across the book to give variety.
