Drawing from photos:
I drew some of my favourite buildings and scenes from photographs I had taken. I drew them straight in thick black paint pen. This was a good method to help me capture the atmosphere of the place, meaning I would be less precious with the how I made marks. The line quality is scratchy and rough, this adds to the derelict/abandoned feeling to the place.
I like the look of the complex angular lines in the drawing (bottom left). It has an interest perspective that leads you into the image. I randomly took a picture of this broken fence (bellow), after drawing it I liked how it looked. The way it is hanging open but still barricaded up, it looks as if it is temping you to go through it.
Im pleased with this image. The perspective works well. I decided to add yellow felt tip onto the background. I chose yellow because I thought it would have an erie and mysterious feel to it. Also suitable for fairground colours. This images creates a surprisingly relevant atmosphere.
I tried drawing a scene through my camera, Im not sure how this would be developed further. I thought it might be an interesting way to show the area being explored and discovered by someone.
This building stood out to me, The barricade going in front of it is really interesting and also unusual, I'm unsure what its purpose is but has a cool appearance. It looks very medieval, buildings like this would really help to set the scene for my narrative.
(left) This building was really cool, it looked like the Disney tower. A building like this against overgrown and forgotten landscape created a very mysterious and quite dark feeling. Im pleased with the drawing of the roller coaster, It is a complex piece of mechanism and has lots of lines going on. It could make a really cool scene somewhere within my narrative. This two images are defiantly some of the key scenes/building from the theme park and I will look at how to include them in my story.
