Visual Narrative - One week book - Day trip

Day trip around Leeds

In groups we went into leeds to explore and experience something that could be made into a small screen printed book. The book would be a two colour screen print and would be a collaboration of people in the group.

What we did:
  • Explored the german market.
  • Explored leeds market.
  • Found out about healing crystals and the purposes of different stones.
  • Spoke to the fish monger, he said "leeds is middle class with working class roots -  working class gone good!"
  • We asked Brian the flourist what he hates about Leeds, he said "The drunks and smack heads".
  • Spoke to the women in the fancy dress shop, asked her about leeds but she was from manchester. So we tried on costumes instead.
  • Asked the lady at an egg stall what she liked about leeds, she said "nothing".
  • We got talking to the chestnut man, he told us about his family business selling chestnuts at Christmas time, he enjoyed adding to the christmas atmosphere.
  • Had a pint at the Whitelocks.
  • I posed next to a statue.
  • We went to the 10th floor of a car park and got a view of the city from above.
