Visual Communication - Final digital gif

Final Digital gif:

  • I decided to draw the outlines by hand and then manipulate them digitally and add digital colour. I used a light box to help create the frames.

  • Im pleased with how it has turned out. I think digitally colouring the design gives a really smooth transition between frames.
  • Lining up the frames was simple and I could use the ground line as a guide.
  • Figuring out how to make it loop was quite difficult as I couldn't play it ones forward and then back in reverse. I had to miss out a few frames where he jumps so it didn't jump twice in one sequence. This makes a nice on going movement.
  • I think the aesthetic of it look slightly flat, maybe applying some texture or noise to the coloured sections could benefit it.
  • My favourite thing about the design is the way the face appear from the building. It works smoothly and merges gradually which is effective. I like how the eyes appear from the windows.
  • I found the timing hard to figure out, and looking back at it now it looks a tiny bit to fast on some frames.
