I think all my designs would have been more effective if I had used at least one colour in the background. I spent more time working on concepts than I did constructing the finals, I feel like the visual quality of my final designs could have been much better if had experimented with different media and colour. In the future I should give myself more time for visual experiments. Im pleased with the concepts behind my designs, I'm new to working on drawings that communicate a message so feel I have learnt new skills in this brief. I feel the Pinocchio design is visually the best, Im pleased with how I made him recognisable as David Cameron. I think the message in the design is clear, it suggest that David Cameron is simply lying about things to gain money for himself. I think the message in the superman design is a little vague. It could do with another piece of imagery that suggest he is in a child's costume. I like the look of the design but I feel it could communicate the wrong message. The final landscape design communicates a message in a very literal way which is effective and easily readable. I think the quality of drawing in this designs could be better. When drawing illustrations like these I think I should be less precious in the way I draw and less critical of my own visual handwriting. Overall I'm pleased with how I created the concepts but the quality of drawing is not my full potential. Using my own way of image making to communicate different messages is something I need to develop.
